I left my early 20s and have entered the dreaded mid-20s. It's not that dramatic, really, but still. Talks with friends have shifted from going out to clubs to staying in, planning dinner parties, preventative botox, and new recipes to try. I love it, I do, but turning another year older doesn't feel as monumental as it once did. Whoopie, I survived another 365 turns around the sun. I think one thing I am going to focus on this "new year of life" is working more on myself. I am going to try to be more active. Do more things. Make 24 a fun year so that next year when I turn 25, I can be like, damn, for a 24 y.o., you sure did a lot. We will see how this goes.
Anyways as always, to celebrate my birthday, I had a photoshoot. Unlike this year, there wasn't really a theme. I know some people do 24-karat-themed shoots, but I wasn't feeling up for gold. I wanted whimsical. So I started with my cake first and let that drive me. After 3 hours of frosting piping, 2 days of making candied lemons, and 40 minutes of driving around trying to find white mascara, these are the results.
