Bella and I woke up early and decided to hit the beach at the ripe time of 4 AM. Normally a wake-up this early wouldn't be terrible. However, on this day, I had decided that it would a wonderful idea to go to bed at 1 in the morning.
Bleary-eyed I rolled out of my warm sheets. The 3 hours of sleep were very much noticeable and I hobbled around my room attempting to gather my camera equipment and my change of swimsuits ( I always make sure that I bring a change for a photoshoot... love having options you know). I grabbed my suit, towel, blanket and ran out the door. We rushed to the van worried that we would somehow miss the sunrise, forgetting that in the Caribbean the sun doesn't rise till a lovely 5:40 AM.
We drove the 15 minutes to the beautiful Hay'Penny beach, a secluded locals-only beach hidden on the south shore. It was completely empty. We were the only living things in sight. I guess that's the secret ingredient that made what happened next so special.
As we were shooting a cloud suddenly descend and the pitter-patter of rain droplets began to smack into the camera. We had the foresight to hurriedly shove all of our hydrophobic electronics into a wet bag because the next moment the sky opened up and we were caught in the downpour.
When the rain stopped the water turned placid and a stunning rainbow made its appearance :)
